Band 1: Beginning BandWhat is Beginning Band?
Beginning band is a hands on Performing Arts Class that teaches your 5th or 6th grade student all of the fundamentals of their chosen wind or percussion instrument from the ground up. Skills that are learned in this class range from systems of notation, and basic rudimentary instrument technique to interpersonal and emotional communication skills. Music is a unique art form and activity in that it engages both hemispheres of the brain, creativity and problem solving simultaneously. Studies have shown time and time again that band students score higher on tests that measure students' ability to demonstrate higher level analytical skills than students that have not been exposed to learning a musical instrument. Beginning Band is available and encouraged for any rising 5th and 6th graders willing to work and learn! beginner_band_faq__1_.doc Beginning Band Supplies | All: Traditions of Excellence: book 1 (red) All: Your instrument :) Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone & Clarinet: 1 box of “2” Vandoren or Rico Royal Reeds.Check for the correct instrument!
